Rotor Position Sensor (RPS)

The F51 error is triggered when the machine control board fails to receive a consistent signal from the Hall-effect sensors located on the RPS. This component is responsible for monitoring motor speed and direction; if the sensor fails or is obstructed by debris, the control board cannot verify motor movement. Replacing the sensor restores the closed-loop feedback required for the drive system to operate.

Stator Assembly

In cases where the RPS is not the sole failure, the wiring harness or the electromagnetic coils on the stator may have sustained damage. If the stator windings are compromised, the magnetic field is inconsistent, causing the RPS to throw an F51 code due to perceived erratic rotor movement. This is typically considered if a new sensor fails to clear the fault.

Motor Rotor Bolt

Mechanical loosening of the rotor bolt can cause the rotor to wobble during high-speed rotation. This physical deviation changes the gap between the rotor magnets and the RPS, leading to signal dropouts that the control board interprets as an electronic failure.
