Drain Pump Assembly
The drain pump utilizes a permanent magnet motor that is susceptible to internal seal failure or winding shorts over time. When the motor fails to generate sufficient torque to rotate the impeller against the head pressure of the water column in the drain hose, the fluid remains in the tub. Debris ingestion can also shear the impeller from the motor shaft, resulting in a motor that hums but fails to move fluid.

Shift Actuator
This component uses a synchronous motor and an optical sensor to shift the drive system between agitate and spin modes. On the Cabrio platform, a failure in the actuator's internal switch or sensor prevents the control board from verifying the tub's mechanical state. If the board cannot confirm the shift to the drain/spin transition, it will often abort the cycle and fail to energize the drain pump.

Pressure Transducer Hose
The washer determines the water level by measuring hydrostatic pressure through this air tube connected to the outer tub. If the hose is clogged with sediment or pinched, the pressure transducer on the main control board will receive a 'high' pressure signal even if the tub is empty. This creates a logic loop where the machine continues to attempt draining indefinitely or triggers a Long Drain error.
