Dishwasher Door Gasket

This is the primary seal between the door and the stainless steel tub. Over time, the EPDM rubber can lose its elasticity, flatten, or accumulate food debris, preventing a watertight seal. Replacing this restores the compression seal around the top and sides of the door.

Lower Spray Arm

A common mechanical failure on KitchenAid models where the plastic weld on the spray arm seam splits. This causes a concentrated jet of water to spray horizontally toward the bottom of the door, bypassing the lower 'umbrella' seal and causing a leak that appears to come from the door bottom.

Overfill Protection Float Switch

If the float switch fails or is obstructed, the dishwasher may overfill with water. Because the front of the tub is not technically sealed at the very bottom (it relies on a raised lip/dam), water that exceeds the design level will spill over the front lip and out through the bottom of the door.
