Drain Pump Assembly

The drain pump utilizes a synchronous motor that frequently suffers from internal electrical shorting or mechanical seizure due to debris ingress. When this component fails, the dishwasher cannot generate the necessary centrifugal force to evacuate wastewater through the drain line, leaving standing water in the tub. Replacing the pump assembly restores the hydraulic pressure required for the drain cycle.

Drain Check Valve

This valve prevents wastewater from flowing back into the dishwasher after the drain cycle completes. On the GDT645, the rubber flap can become deformed or fouled by food particles, either sticking closed (preventing drainage) or failing to seal (allowing backflow from the sink/disposer). Replacing the valve ensures a one-way flow of water out of the unit.

Drain Hose

The corrugated drain hose is prone to internal blockages from grease buildup and food particulate, especially if a 'High Loop' was not installed. A physical obstruction within the hose's narrow diameter increases head pressure beyond the pump's capacity, resulting in a 'Failure to Drain' error. A new hose ensures an unobstructed path to the house plumbing.
