Circulation Pump and Motor Assembly

This is the primary motor responsible for pushing water through the spray arms. In this GE series, the motor internal bearings often seize or the impeller becomes disconnected from the drive shaft, resulting in a dishwasher that fills with water but fails to circulate it, leaving dishes dry or unwashed.

Flood Switch with Integrated Thermistor

This component monitors both water level and temperature. If the thermistor or the float logic fails, the dishwasher will not activate the heating element or may terminate the fill cycle prematurely, resulting in insufficient water volume and cold water that cannot dissolve detergent or fats.

If the dishwasher is completing its cycle but dishes are covered in a grainy residue or grease, the heating element has likely suffered an open circuit. Without reaching the target 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit, the detergent enzymes cannot activate and fats will not be emulsified.
