Dryer Maintenance Kit

This kit contains the drum support rollers, the idler pulley, and the drive belt. The squeaking is caused by metal-on-metal friction as the internal lubrication of the roller bushings dissipates over time, allowing the rollers to oscillate unevenly on the shafts. Replacing the entire assembly ensures all high-friction rotational components are renewed to prevent future seize-up or belt snaps.

Drum Support Roller

Individually, these rollers are the primary load-bearing components for the drum's mass and the wet laundry load. When the bushing fails, the roller stops rotating smoothly and begins to slide or 'chatter' against the roller shaft, creating a high-pitched squealing sound. In the Duet series, there are four of these rollers (two front, two rear) that support the drum circumference.

Idler Pulley Assembly

The idler pulley maintains constant tension on the drive belt as it rotates at high RPMs. The internal bearing is a high-frequency failure point where grease degradation leads to friction-induced squealing that often fluctuates with the drum speed or load weight.
