Thermal Cut-Off and High-Limit Thermostat Kit

This kit contains a non-resettable thermal fuse designed to open the electrical circuit if the heater housing exceeds safety temperatures. It often fails due to restricted exhaust airflow or a grounded heating element. Once the internal solder or bimetal strip reaches its thermal threshold, the continuity to the heating element is permanently severed to prevent fire.

Dryer Heating Element Assembly

The heating element consists of a coiled nickel-chromium wire that provides heat via resistive Joule heating. Over hundreds of cycles, the metal undergoes thermal expansion and contraction, leading to work hardening and eventual fracture of the coil. A single break in this wire creates an open circuit, preventing any heat generation while allowing the drum to continue rotating.

Dryer Main Control Board (CCU)

The electronic control board houses the heater relay, which acts as the high-current gate for the element. Constant switching of 240V/25A leads to contact pitting and carbonization within the relay housing. Alternatively, the solder joints on the PCB can crack due to vibration and heat, preventing the control signal from reaching the heater circuit.
