Dryer Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is a sacrificial safety device that opens the electrical path to the motor when exhaust temperatures exceed 196°F. When blown, the motor cannot energize, preventing the centrifugal switch from closing. This lack of mechanical feedback forces the control board to remain in the 'Sensing' state as it awaits a state-change signal that never arrives.

Moisture Sensor Strip Kit

These sensors operate on the principle of conductivity, measuring the resistance across the wet load. Accumulation of surfactants from dryer sheets creates a waxy, non-conductive barrier, while metallic debris can cause a dead short; both conditions disrupt the MCU's ability to calculate moisture content, potentially locking the logic in sensing mode.

Dryer Drive Motor

The drive motor contains an integrated centrifugal switch that completes a logic circuit once the rotor reaches operating velocity. If the motor windings fail or the switch contacts suffer from carbon tracking or mechanical binding, the MCU will not detect that the drum is rotating, resulting in a software loop in the initial sensing phase.
