Handlebar Release Button Actuator
The internal plastic slider or 'yoke' that connects the external button to the release cables has likely fractured. This mechanical failure prevents the required tension from reaching the locking pins located inside the telescoping tubes. Without this tension, the spring-loaded pins remain seated in the adjustment holes, locking the handlebar in its current position regardless of button input.
