Evaporator Defrost Sensor

This thermistor monitors the evaporator temperature to terminate the defrost cycle. If the sensor's resistance falls outside of the expected Ohm range (typically 5k-10k Ohms at standard temperatures), the refrigerator enters a fault state, causing specific display segments or the entire panel to blink to signal a cooling error. It is the most common sensor-level failure in the RF28 series.

Internal LED Light Module

If the blinking is localized to the interior cabinet lights, the failure is likely a thermal breakdown of the LED diodes or the small local driver board within the module.
