Boiler and Heating Element Retrofit Kit
On older Silvia models, the heating element is brazed directly into the boiler. When the internal resistive coil fails or the insulation breaks down causing a ground fault, the entire assembly must be upgraded to the modern stainless steel version which features a replaceable, threaded heating element.

Stainless Steel Heating Element (Threaded)
For machines already equipped with the newer stainless steel boiler, the element is a standalone component. Failure typically occurs due to mineral scale buildup which acts as an insulator, causing the element to overheat locally and eventually rupture its protective sheath.

Manual Reset Safety Thermostat (165°C)
This bi-metal safety switch is designed to interrupt the circuit if the boiler temperature exceeds 165°C, often triggered by running the steam function for too long or a dry boiler. If the internal contact remains open or the physical reset button fails to engage, the heating element will appear to have failed despite being electrically sound.
