LDS Drive Belt
The most common failure point in rotating LiDAR modules is the elastomer drive belt that connects the motor to the turret. Over time, the belt can stretch, slip, or snap due to environmental heat and dust, preventing the turret from reaching the required RPM for environmental mapping. Replacing the belt restores the mechanical link between the motor and the optical assembly.

LDS Rotational Motor
The small brushed DC motor responsible for spinning the laser turret is prone to developing 'dead spots' on the commutator or becoming seized by hair wrapped around the drive spindle. If the motor cannot overcome the initial static friction of the turret, the vacuum's logic board will throw a 'stuck' error to prevent overheating the motor driver circuit.

LDS Laser Distance Sensor Module
If the internal bearings of the turret assembly have seized or the optical alignment between the laser diode and the receiving photodiode is compromised, the entire module must be replaced. This is often necessary when the internal rotation mechanism becomes fouled by fine particulates that cannot be cleared without compromising the factory calibration of the sensor.
