3-Way Solenoid Valve
The solenoid valve uses an electromagnetic coil to lift a plunger, allowing pressurized water to enter the group head. If the internal ruby seal or plunger spring fails due to scale buildup or thermal fatigue, the valve will either fail to open (no flow) or fail to seal (constant dripping). This is the most common electromechanical failure point in the Micra's saturated group hydraulic path.

Expansion Valve (OPV)
The expansion valve manages brew pressure by bypassing excess water to the drain. If the internal spring loses tension or the seat is fouled by debris, it creates an 'open loop' where water flows back to the reservoir or drain box instead of the portafilter, resulting in perceived low flow or pressure loss during the brew cycle.

Flow Meter Assembly
The flow meter contains a small impeller that pulses as water passes through. If the impeller becomes occluded by calcium deposits or the magnetic sensor fails, the control board will detect a '0 pulse' state and terminate the pump cycle to prevent dry boiling, manifesting as an immediate cessation of water flow.
