The TE 60 uses a floating striker propelled by pneumatic pressure generated by a reciprocating piston. Over time, the OEM grease carbonizes or mixes with masonry dust, creating a high-viscosity sludge that causes the striker to adhere to the cylinder wall (stiction). Replacing the fluorinated O-rings and using the specific Hilti G-series grease restores the airtight seal and low-friction environment necessary for the pneumatic cycle to function.
