Ice Maker Water Fill Tube Heater

On GE French Door models, the fill tube passes through a cold zone where standing water can freeze between cycles. This heater kit prevents ice plugs from forming inside the tube, which otherwise causes the ice maker to stop cycling and appear 'frozen.' It is the standard engineering fix for intermittent fill issues caused by low-temperature blockage.

Electronic Ice Maker Assembly

If the ice maker internal thermostat or timing motor fails, it may stall mid-cycle while full of water or ice, leading to a 'frozen' state. Replacing the entire assembly is the most reliable fix when the mechanical ejector arms or internal logic board fail to trigger the harvest cycle.

Water Inlet Valve

A weeping or slow-leaking solenoid valve allows a constant trickle of water into the fill tube. Because the flow rate is too low to clear the tube, the water freezes upon entry, creating a 'glacier' or ice plug that prevents the ice maker from functioning.
