Drain Pump

This synchronous motor drives the impeller to evacuate water. In the Bosch 500 series, food debris often bypasses the filter and jams the impeller or wears out the motor bearings, resulting in a humming sound without water movement. Replacing the pump restores the mechanical force required to push water through the drain line.

Non-Return Check Valve

This rubber flapper valve sits in the sump and ensures water only flows one way out of the machine. If the valve becomes distended, sticky with grease, or physically obstructed by a small object (like a seed), it will fail to open during the drain cycle or allow dirty water to flow back into the tub after the cycle ends.

Drain Hose

Over time, the corrugated interior of the drain hose can accumulate grease and calcium deposits, narrowing the internal diameter. This increases resistance (head pressure) on the drain pump, which can cause the software to timeout the drain cycle before the tub is empty. A new hose ensures an unobstructed path to the house plumbing.
