Nozzle Wiper
The nozzle wipe sequence relies on a sacrificial PTFE or heat-resistant polymer tip to damp the impact of the nozzle as it oscillates. When this material degrades or the mounting screw holding the wiper assembly loosens, the mechanical damping is lost, resulting in a high-frequency metal-on-metal scraping or grinding sound. Replacing this consumable restores the intended friction and acoustic damping of the cleaning cycle.
