Supercharger Clutch Assembly

The internal sprag mechanism or dampening springs have suffered mechanical fatigue due to inertial torque spikes during rapid RPM fluctuations. This failure prevents the supercharger from engaging correctly, leading to a significant loss of manifold boost pressure. The updated 32-tooth design is the primary mechanical resolution to prevent recurrent shear failure.

Supercharger Drive Gear

When the clutch damper fails, it often scores or damages the mating surfaces of the drive gear. Replacing the gear alongside the clutch ensures proper surface interface and prevents premature wear on the new clutch's sprag elements.

Oil Filter and Engine Oil

A mechanical failure of the clutch damper typically releases metallic debris and spring fragments into the engine's oiling system. A complete oil service and filter change are required to prevent secondary damage to the engine bearings or the supercharger's internal oil-fed bushings.
