Drain Pump Assembly

This pump uses a permanent magnet motor that often develops internal friction when the rotor's waterproof chamber is breached. As the motor heats up during a cycle, the torque output drops, leading to a flow rate that is too slow to meet the control board's programmed 10-minute evacuation threshold. Replacing the pump restores the necessary GPM (gallons per minute) to clear the tub within the safety window.

Water Level Pressure Switch

The pressure switch interprets hydrostatic pressure from the tub via an air column. If the internal diaphragm loses its calibration or the electrical contacts fail, the controller continues to 'see' water even after it has been physically pumped out. This leads to a 'Long Drain' error because the board assumes the pump is failing despite the tub being empty.

Corrugated Drain Hose

Over time, the interior ridges of the corrugated hose can trap lint and detergent 'scrud,' significantly narrowing the internal diameter. This increases fluid friction and backpressure on the pump, causing it to work harder and pump slower. A physical restriction here is a common cause for 'slow' as opposed to 'no' drain conditions.
