Could a failing Main Control and Power PCB Assembly cause the VICTRON ENERGY MULTIPLUS-II 48/5000/70-50 to have symptom: external power connection not detected?

The AC input sensing logic is integrated into the main PCB. This circuit uses a series of precision resistors and opto-couplers to monitor the incoming sine wave for synchronization; if these surface-mount components fail due to a surge, the unit cannot 'see' the grid and will remain in inverter mode as a safety precaution.

Could a failing Internal AC Input Fuse cause the VICTRON ENERGY MULTIPLUS-II 48/5000/70-50 to have symptom: external power connection not detected?

The unit contains an internal high-capacity fuse on the AC input rail designed to protect the inverter from catastrophic grid transients. If this fuse is cleared (open circuit), the physical connection to the sensing bridge is severed, resulting in a 'no AC' status despite power being present at the external terminals.

Could a failing Transfer Relay Kit cause the VICTRON ENERGY MULTIPLUS-II 48/5000/70-50 to have symptom: external power connection not detected?

The MultiPlus-II utilizes heavy-duty electromechanical relays to switch between inverter and grid modes. If the relay coil fails or the contacts are heavily oxidized/pitted, the unit may fail to complete the input circuit or its internal diagnostic check will fail, preventing the system from recognizing the AC source.
