Auger Drive Belt

The drive belt is the primary mechanical link between the electric brushless motor and the auger assembly. Under high-torque conditions or when encountering heavy/wet snow, the belt can stretch, slip, or snap, preventing the transfer of rotational energy. This results in the motor operating (sometimes accompanied by a whirring sound) without any corresponding movement of the snow-clearing auger.

Auger Shear Bolt Kit

On two-stage models, shear bolts act as a mechanical fuse designed to break if the auger hits a solid object. If these bolts are sheared, the drive shaft will spin internally while the auger spirals remains stationary to protect the gearbox and motor from catastrophic failure.

Auger Gearbox Assembly

The gearbox contains a worm gear drive that reduces motor RPM into high-torque rotation for the augers. Internal gear stripping or a seized bearing within the housing will cause the auger to lock up or lose drive, often triggering the electronic controller's stall protection and causing the motor to shut down or beep.
