Tacx Freehub Body (Shimano/SRAM)
The freehub body houses the pawls and internal bearings. Over time, the lubricant within the pawl seats can solidify or become contaminated, preventing the pawls from extending and engaging the ratchet ring. Replacing the entire body is the most reliable fix for skipping teeth or drive-engagement failures.

Low-Viscosity Freehub Grease
Mechanical friction and skipping are often caused by the use of high-viscosity grease which creates 'stiction' in the low-tension pawl springs. A specific low-viscosity lubricant is required to ensure the pawls snap back into the ratchet teeth instantly during the transition from coasting to pedaling.
