Flow Switch with Transparent Tee

The flow switch utilizes a magnetic reed encased in a plastic housing that closes when water velocity moves a physical paddle. Over time, the reed switch can become stuck in the open position due to magnetic degradation or internal contact oxidation, leading the control board to perceive a 'no-flow' condition even if the pump is operational. This part includes the critical sensor that provides the safety interlock signal for the heater.

Circulation Pump (Laing E10)

This pump is responsible for continuous 24-hour filtration and heating flow. Mechanically, these pumps use a spherical motor design; if debris enters the housing or the ceramic bearing wears down, the impeller will seize, resulting in zero flow. This lack of kinetic energy in the water prevents the flow switch from closing, triggering the FLO error.

The circulation system in Sundance Spas is highly sensitive to head pressure. If the pleated media or the inner microfiber core becomes saturated with oils or calcium scale, the resulting pressure drop across the filter prevents the circulation pump from achieving the minimum flow rate (GPM) required to displace the flow switch paddle.
