Water Inlet Valve (Dual Solenoid)

The dual solenoid valve controls water flow to both the dispenser and the ice maker. Over time, the solenoid for the ice maker side can weaken or accumulate mineral scale, restricting the orifice. This reduces the flow rate during the fixed 7-second fill window, leading to the low-volume 'hollow' cube symptom.

Water Filter (Replacement)

A saturated or bypass-mode water filter creates a pressure drop across the line. Since the ice maker relies on a timed fill rather than a float switch, any reduction in PSI directly correlates to a lower volume of water in the mold, causing incomplete freezing of the cube's interior.

Modular Ice Maker Assembly

If the water supply is verified to be adequate, the internal thermostat of the ice maker module may be out of calibration. If it triggers the harvest motor too early in the cycle, it will eject cubes before the latent heat of fusion has allowed the center to freeze solid.
