Earcup Outer Housing Assembly
The failure mode is a mechanical fracture of the plastic pivot boss due to cantilevered stress from the headband yoke. Because the metal hinge pin is harder than the plastic housing, the plastic socket experiences 'hoop stress' that exceeds its material limits during standard donning/doffing cycles. Replacing the housing assembly is the only method to restore the structural pivot point.
