Linear Bearing Lubricant (NLGI Grade 2)

The J1's linear rails frequently ship with insufficient lubrication, leading to high friction that stalls the stepper motors during the alignment sequence. Applying an NLGI Grade 2 grease reduces the coefficient of friction, allowing the motion controller to complete the homing and nozzle-probing routines without triggering a 'move freely' error.

J1 All-Metal Hot End Assembly

Alignment errors often occur when the printer cannot electronically or mechanically sense the nozzle's contact with the calibration bed. Replaced or older hot ends may have debris or poor seating that prevents the 'nozzle touch' sensing circuit from completing, resulting in a failed alignment sequence.

If metal splinters are present in the lubricant or on the magnetic catch, the bearing races within the carriage have likely suffered catastrophic pitting. Replacing the carriages with the updated 'Green Seal' version addresses the mechanical binding that physically prevents the X/Y axes from reaching the alignment targets.
