RAVE Valve Position Sensor

This sensor monitors the exact stroke of the exhaust valve slide. On E-TEC models, the ECM expects specific voltage feedback at idle (closed) and high RPM (open); if the sensor develops internal resistance or a 'dead spot,' it triggers a Check Engine Light even if the valve is physically moving. Replacing the sensor restores the accurate feedback loop required by the engine management system.

RAVE Valve Gasket and O-Ring Kit

The RAVE valves are exposed to high-temperature exhaust gases and oil residue which cause carbon fouling on the guillotine blade. This fouling creates mechanical friction that prevents the valve from reaching its 'home' position, causing the servo motor to exceed its current limit and trip a fault code. This kit is required to reseal the assembly after performing a manual decarbonization of the valves.

RAVE Actuator Servo Cable

The 850 E-TEC utilizes a servo-to-valve cable linkage. Over time, these cables can stretch or fray, leading to a synchronization error where one valve opens further than the other. The ECM detects this imbalance via the position sensor and enters a protective limp mode to prevent engine damage from asymmetrical exhaust backpressure.
