Shark Vertex Replacement Filter Kit (HEPA, Foam & Felt)

The filter light is electronically triggered when the motor's internal thermistor or pressure sensor detects insufficient airflow. Accumulated micro-dust in the HEPA and pre-motor foam filters increases static pressure, which signals the control board to illuminate the filter light to prevent motor overheating. Replacing the complete kit ensures the airflow meets the required CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) to reset the system.

Vacuum Hose and Wand Assembly

Obstructions in the hose or wand can mimic a clogged filter by restricting airflow to the main motor. If the filter light remains on after filter cleaning, a physical blockage or a structural collapse in the inner lining of the flexible hose is the likely mechanical cause for the pressure drop.

Main Nozzle/Floor Head Duct

The Shark Vertex DuoClean nozzle features multiple air paths and a soft roller. Debris buildup in the lower ducting or a jam in the self-cleaning brushroll housing can create enough backpressure to trigger the filter indicator light, though this is secondary to direct filter saturation.
