Indoor Fan Motor (BLDC)

The E3 error indicates that the control board is not receiving the expected RPM feedback signal from the motor's internal Hall effect sensor. This is typically caused by a failure of the sensor's circuitry or a breakdown in the motor's internal permanent magnet synchronization. Replacing the motor restores the electromechanical feedback loop required for the system to modulate airflow and prevent evaporator icing.

Indoor Main Power Board (PCB)

If the motor is mechanically sound and spinning, the E3 error suggests the signal processing logic on the main control board has failed. The PCB is responsible for interpreting the square wave signal from the motor; a failed capacitor or logic gate in this circuit will cause the system to default to an E3 safety shutdown.

Indoor Blower Wheel Assembly

Excessive debris accumulation or a loose setscrew on the blower wheel can create enough mechanical resistance or physical slippage to prevent the motor from reaching the target RPM range. While less common than electronic failure, a slipping wheel prevents the sensor from correlating motor shaft speed with actual airflow, triggering the control error.
