Door Lock Assembly

This motorized assembly is responsible for physically engaging the door latch during self-clean or child-lock modes. Over time, or following high-heat cycles, the plastic gears inside the motor housing can strip or the internal micro-switches fail, preventing the latch from returning to the open position even after the oven has cooled.

Child Lock Deactivation

Samsung Flex Duo models feature a Child Lock (or Control Lock) that, when activated, prevents the door from being opened on many versions. This is often triggered accidentally by users cleaning the control panel; it requires holding the 'Oven Control' or 'Lock' button for 3 seconds to release the motorized latch.

Main Power Control Board

If the door lock assembly is functional but receives no 120V AC signal to actuate the motor, the relay on the main control board has likely failed. This is less common than mechanical latch failure but occurs if a short circuit in the latch motor damages the board's switching transistors.
