Ice Maker Assembly

The RS27T5200 ice maker relies on an internal thermistor to detect when ice has reached the required temperature for harvesting. When the unit functions via the test button but fails automatically, it indicates the internal sensor is failing to report the 'harvest' threshold to the control board. Since the thermistor is integrated into the assembly, the entire module must be replaced to restore automatic cycling.

Main Power Control Board

The main PCB processes the resistance signals from the ice maker's thermistor to initiate a harvest cycle. If the ice maker assembly has been replaced and the freezer temperature is verified at 0°F or lower, a logic failure on the board is the likely cause of the unit's inability to trigger an automatic dump.

Water Inlet Valve

A partially restricted solenoid in the water inlet valve can result in insufficient water volume in the tray. If the tray does not reach a specific weight or level, the harvest cycle may be delayed or stalled, though this is less likely if the manual test button produces a successful fill.
