Pressurestat (Mater XP110)
The P-Stat is the primary electromechanical switch responsible for maintaining boiler pressure. Over time, the internal spring and diaphragm lose calibration or become fouled by mineral deposits, causing the machine to either fail to heat or cycle inconsistently outside of the standard 0.9–1.2 bar range.

On many Appartamento units, the P-Stat sends a signal to a relay on this board rather than switching the heater directly. The electromechanical relay on the board frequently fails due to arcing or thermal stress, resulting in the heating element failing to engage even when the P-Stat is closed.

Vacuum Breaker Valve
A failure of the vacuum breaker to seal during the heat-up phase results in air being trapped in the boiler. This 'false pressure' causes the pressurestat to cycle off before the water reaches the required temperature for steam production, leading to a rapid drop in pressure upon use.
