Flame Sensor
The flame sensor relies on the physical principle of flame rectification to confirm combustion. Over time, the metallic rod develops a thin, invisible layer of oxidation or carbon buildup which acts as an insulator, blocking the micro-ampere DC signal required by the integrated furnace control board. Replacing the sensor restores the electrical path necessary for the safety circuit to remain closed during the heating cycle.
