Ghosting or image persistence in IPS-grade panels is caused by the degradation of the Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) array or trapped charges within the liquid crystal layer. This physical failure prevents pixels from fully transitioning to their new state, causing the previous frame to remain visible as a faint 'ghost.' Because the display layers are factory-bonded, the entire LCD assembly must be replaced to resolve the hardware-level voltage retention issue.
