Motor Controller
The controller houses the power-delivery pigtail that frequently experiences thermal failure at the motor junction. High resistance at the phase pin interface generates localized heat exceeding the thermoplastic's glass transition temperature, leading to melted housings and potential MOSFET shorts. Replacing the controller provides a new, low-resistance connection point and internal power circuitry.

Motor Extension Cable
In many RadRunner configurations, a Z910 9-pin extension cable connects the main harness to the rear hub motor. This cable is the most likely location for environmental ingress and mechanical stress, leading to oxidation of the pins and subsequent resistive heating. Replacing this cable is the most granular solution if the melt is isolated to the intermediate connection.

Rear Hub Motor Assembly
If the thermal event occurred on the motor-side pigtail and the damage extends into the cable gland or internal wiring, the hub motor becomes non-serviceable. This replacement is required if the phase wires have fused or the hall sensor insulation has been compromised inside the motor axle.
