Controller Battery Sleeve and Spring Spacer Kit

The Quest 2 controller's battery compartment can allow the AA battery to shift during rapid movements, causing a momentary loss of electrical contact. This results in the 'Tracking Lost' error as the IMU and IR LEDs power cycle. A non-conductive sleeve or a higher-tension replacement spring maintains terminal contact regardless of physical force or vibration.

The Quest 2 utilizes inside-out tracking via four wide-angle cameras on the headset. Smudges or oils on these lenses prevent the computer vision system from identifying the IR constellation on the controllers. Frequent cleaning of these optical interfaces is required to maintain the spatial lock between the headset and the controller.

If tracking loss persists after power and optical troubleshooting, the internal IR LED array or the ribbon cable connecting the tracking ring to the main PCB has likely suffered a fatigue failure from impact or drop.
