Motor Control Board
The MCB is the electromechanical bridge between the digital console and the DC motor. High friction between the walking belt and deck often causes an amp draw spike that exceeds the thermal capacity of the board's MOSFETs, resulting in a blown power stage that prevents DC output to the motor despite receiving speed commands.

Magnetic Reed Switch
This sensor provides essential RPM feedback to the controller via magnetic pulses from the front roller pulley. If the internal contact of the reed switch is fractured or the gap exceeds 1/8 inch, the system fails to detect motion and will programmatically terminate current to the motor to prevent a 'runaway' belt scenario.

Drive Motor
The permanent magnet DC motor relies on carbon brushes to maintain electrical contact with the spinning commutator. Over time, these brushes wear down or become pitted from arcing; once they lose sufficient contact pressure, the motor becomes an open circuit, rendering it unable to generate the torque necessary to overcome the inertia of the walking belt.
