Voltage Regulator / Rectifier

The voltage regulator on this model is a common point of thermal failure. When it fails to properly shunt excess stator current to ground, the resulting voltage spikes exceed the EPS control module's safety threshold, causing an immediate system shutdown and a persistent dash light to protect the EPS motor's MOSFETs.

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

The EPS system requires a constant speed input to calculate the required steering assist torque. If this sensor fails or is covered in metallic shavings from the transmission, the ECU loses the speed telemetry, causing the EPS to disable itself as a safety precaution, which simultaneously results in a dead speedometer.

EPS Power Relay

This relay provides the primary high-current switch for the EPS motor. Internal mechanical failure of the relay contacts due to high vibration levels in the RZR chassis will prevent power from reaching the steering motor, resulting in the control module reporting a power-loss fault light.
