Secondary Clutch Round Roller Kit

The OEM square sliders (pucks) in the secondary clutch develop flat spots and gall the clutch towers, leading to mechanical binding. Replacing these with round rollers converts sliding friction into rolling friction, allowing the sheaves to move smoothly without the sudden 'snap' that causes the engagement clunk.

Heavy Duty Drive Belt

A glazed or hourglassed belt creates inconsistent surface tension against the primary clutch sheaves. During initial engagement, the belt slips until it reaches a thicker section or higher RPM, resulting in a sudden grab and an audible thud or clunk as the drivetrain takes up slack.

Primary Clutch Weight/Spring Kit

Fatigued primary springs or worn flyweight bushings can cause the primary clutch to engage at improper RPMs. If the engagement RPM is too high due to spring 'sack' or weight binding, the clutch slams into the belt, transmitting a shockwave through the transaxle known as engagement clunk.
