Outdoor Main Control Board (PCB)

The outdoor PCB contains the primary inverter logic and optocouplers that manage the digital handshake with the indoor unit. Thermal expansion and contraction cycles on the outdoor unit can cause micro-fractures in the solder pads of the communication IC, leading to a permanent signal break that triggers the E1 protection logic.

Indoor Main Control Board (PCB)

The indoor PCB initiates the 24V-35V DC signal loop. If the indoor unit's power supply circuit for the communication terminal fails—often due to a faulty capacitor or a voltage surge—the system cannot establish the initial data packet exchange with the compressor unit.

14/4 Stranded Shielded Communication Wire

The E1 error is frequently caused by high impedance or a complete open-circuit in the interconnecting cable. Corrosion at the spade terminals or internal breakage of the stranded copper due to improper tension prevents the transmission of the pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal between the units.
