Jog Wheel Roller Guide Set
The platter rotates on three to four polymer rollers that maintain the clearance between the rotating assembly and the fixed base. Contamination or lubrication breakdown in these rollers causes them to slide rather than roll, leading to the reported dragging noise and physical resistance. Replacing the set restores the fluid-dynamic rotation of the jog wheel.

Jog Wheel Grounding Spring
This spring maintains electrical continuity between the platter and the PCB for touch sensing. If the spring's tension is misaligned or the contact point is dry, it creates a high-frequency dragging or scratching noise during rotation. A new spring with fresh conductive grease eliminates the acoustic friction at the contact point.

Complete Jog Wheel Assembly
If the internal race (the track the rollers sit on) has become deeply scored or warped due to long-term dragging, replacing individual rollers will not resolve the noise. A full assembly replacement is the only solution if the platter's structural track has suffered material deformation or thermal scoring.
