IR-Cut Filter Actuator Assembly
The IR-cut filter is a mechanical solenoid-driven shutter that moves a glass filter out of the optical path for night mode. If the actuator fails to fully retract the filter or if the filter is stuck in a midway position, the light path is distorted, causing the infrared light to hit the sensor out of focus. This mechanical failure results in a clear image during the day but a blurry, unfocused image at night when the IR light spectrum is dominant.
