Internal Folding Release Cable Assembly
The folding mechanism relies on a high-tension Bowden cable to retract the hinge pins. If the cable has snapped or the plastic barrel-end has sheared off inside the handlebar trigger, the slide-and-squeeze action fails to transmit force to the hinges, leaving the frame locked in the open position. Replacing the internal cable linkage restores the mechanical connection between the user interface and the frame locks.
