The MK3 architecture requires a high-wattage Power Delivery (PD) handshake to initialize the high-resolution display and internal processors. A blank screen occurs when the PMIC (Power Management IC) detects a voltage drop or insufficient current from a standard USB port, causing a failure in the boot sequence. Using a dedicated 20W+ PD-compliant power source ensures the display logic receives the stable current necessary to overcome the high-impedance state of the screen's backlighting circuit.

Standard USB cables often lack the necessary CC (Configuration Channel) wires and proper gauge to support the PD protocol required by the S88 Mk3. If external power sources do not resolve the issue, the failure likely lies in the internal DC-to-DC conversion stage on the main logic board.
