Internal Foldable Display and Hinge Assembly
The grinding noise is caused by foreign object debris (FOD) infiltrating the synchronized gear mechanism. This creates mechanical interference and abrasive wear on the hinge's internal cams and gear teeth. Since the hinge is factory-bonded to the flexible OLED panel to manage the 'teardrop' radius, replacing the entire display and frame assembly is the only reliable method to eliminate the friction and prevent a secondary puncture of the display substrate.
