Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

The TPS provides a critical voltage signal to the ECU to indicate the throttle plate is at the idle position; mechanical wear at the bottom of the sensor's potentiometer track causes signal dropouts, leading the ECU to cut fuel or timing incorrectly when the operator returns to neutral.
