Heating Element
The heating element coil is the primary component responsible for generating heat. A break in the coil, even if intermittent or not immediately obvious, will prevent the dryer from heating while still allowing the motor to run and air to blow.

Hi-Limit Thermostat or Thermal Cutoff
These safety devices are designed to open the heating circuit if temperatures exceed safe limits. If one fails in an open state, it will prevent the heating element from receiving power, resulting in no heat while the dryer continues to run. The thermal fuse, however, typically stops the entire unit from running, making the hi-limit thermostat or thermal cutoff more likely for a 'no heat' symptom.

Motor Centrifugal Switch
The motor's centrifugal switch is in line with the heater circuit and is responsible for allowing the second leg of 240 VAC (L2) to reach the heating element once the motor starts. If this switch fails to close, the heating element will not receive the full 240 VAC required to operate, leading to a 'no heat' condition while the motor runs.
