Wash Shift Actuator
The shift actuator serves as both a mechanical shifter and an optical tachometer. When the control board initiates the sensing phase, it requires a speed signal from the actuator's internal sensor to verify the basket is rotating; failure of this sensor prevents the cycle from progressing. Additionally, if the internal motor fails to move the splutch into the proper gear, the machine will dwell in sensing mode indefinitely.

Lid Lock Assembly
The control logic requires a closed-loop confirmation that the lid is locked before the motor is permitted to perform the high-torque movements required for load sensing. If the strike plate is misaligned or the solenoid internal to the lock assembly has failed, the machine will remain in the sensing phase as a safety precaution. This often manifests as the sensing light staying on without any audible motor activity.

Drive Belt
A worn or stretched drive belt can slip on the motor pulley during the initial inertia check in the sensing phase. If the belt fails to transmit sufficient torque to rotate the heavy wash basket, the optical sensor on the actuator will not register the required RPMs. This leads the control board to conclude the load is either too heavy or the drive system is obstructed, causing it to stall at the sensing stage.
