The XTR01Z features a single-taper design that lacks a self-extracting mechanism. Over time, the collet cone can undergo permanent deformation or surface galling from high-torque vibrations, causing it to remain wedged in the spindle taper even after the nut is loosened. Replacing the consumable collet cone restores the proper clearance and elastic tension required to release the bit.
