Gear Assembly
The gear assembly contains the spindle shaft and the bearings that maintain rotational trueness. In LXT models, the spindle bearing seat can deform or the internal bushing can wear, causing the chuck to wobble where it meets the tool body. Replacing the entire gear assembly restores the factory tolerances of the output shaft.

1/2" Keyless Chuck
While often secondary to gearbox issues, internal jaw misalignment or a bent chuck body can cause rotational run-out. If the wobble is isolated to the bit and not the spindle shaft itself, the chuck's internal scroll mechanism or the 1/2-20 UNF mounting thread may be compromised.

Flat Head Screw M6X22 (Left-Hand Thread)
This screw secures the chuck to the spindle. If this left-hand threaded fastener loosens, the chuck will have axial and radial play on the spindle threads, creating a perceptible wobble during rotation or under load.
